August...so far...

Maya says..."HI" from the lakehouse...and who needs toys when there are plastic bottles just laying around???!!

Daddy and Maya enjoy some splash mat fun! She loves the water!

Today (8/11), we went to my friend, Kelly's, beach by her house. Just a little beach, but so much fun for the kids!! Maya loves to grab the sand and squish it between her fingers (and maybe taste it a little), and splash in the water! (oh, and if you're wondering why she's not wearing her bathing suit...that would be because her mom is not all with it in the morning! I brought EVERYTHING else with us...just left the suit at home!)

Yay for bubble baths!!! ...I do sense a water theme this summer, now that it's finally nice out!!!

Maya and her friend, Amelia. Amelia is 3 months younger than Maya and started out WAY smaller...she's catching up, though!!!

OK - I'm really not a Beavis and Butthead fan, but there is one episode that cracks me up everytime I think about it...and this is Maya's "cornholio" pose!!! :) (for those that have never seen it...please read on.... :)

Maya and mommy at Auntie Jill's pool!!

Some nice baby left this floaty at the pool, so the life guard let us borrow it!! Again - all smiles in the water!!

OK - night, night....all this playing is exhausting!!!

...an update...

I know it's been a few weeks...here is a rundown of what Maya's been up to in July...in no particular order...

First, the second weekend in July, we went to Arlington Park Race Track! Daddy did not win anything, even though Maya helped him pick his ponies, but we had a good time anyway! One of Maya's friends, Megan, and her Mommy and Daddy, came with us....Megan is only 2 weeks younger than Maya! You will see in the pics, Maya with Daddy and the track, the way Maya napped at the track, Maya and Megan and Megan's daddy, and one of Maya's first attempts at the sippy cup (she's getting much better at it!!)

Next, some pics from the lakehouse...where we've spent most other weekends this summer... First, one of Grandpa "babysitting" Maya :) ..Maya in her big-girl highchair out to dinner....Maya and her cousin Madi, who is 5 months younger and will be her best friend...soon :) ...one of Maya and Mommy on the boat..wrapped up in blankets..in July :( ....and one of the Gorska's visit...

OK - there are more pics, but I can't get the spacing right on here and it's pissing me off, so I am going to have to post the rest later.... this can just serve as a teaser :) More Maya fun to come!! Hope everyone is having as great a summer as us!!!

6 month pics!

These are just a sampling of the wonderful pics we had taken of Maya at 6 months old!! There are so many for us to choose from and she was quite the sport at the photo shoot - we have a little ham on our hands!! :)
To top it off, just last week, our photographer emailed me to let me know that she had changed her blog header...Maya's pictures are her header for her blog/website!! Such a little beauty we have! :) Check it out: http://www.carriannephotography.blogspot.com/

OK - just a quick post today...I have more pictures of the last couple weeks, but I need to get them off of my camera. Soon, though!!!

Time for an update....

Maya and I apologize for being blogging slackers recently...we've been busy busy this summer!! Here is an update from the past couple of weeks...try to keep up: :) (and we apologize for being out of order....I really don't like how blogger uploads pictures and makes it hard to move them....)

We spent the week leading up to the 4th up at the lake! The weather was kind of crappy, but Maya had fun perfecting her rolling around and bouncing in her activity saucer...she's really getting more mobile now - I think there is crawling in the very near future!! We had to come home on Tuesday night to process some athleticpets.com orders and for Maya to attend her first Kindermusik class, so on the way back to the lake on Wednesday, we swung through Milwaukee for Maya's first Summerfest experience!! (for those of you who don't know what Summerfest is...it's just the biggest gathering of bands and food/drink that you can imagine - for a week straight!!) Here are some shots from that:

Mommy and Maya rockin out to the music!!

Daddy introducing Maya to one of his favorite things...Summerfest!!!

...all she was really interested in, though, was her spoon from lunch...

OK, these pictures are out of order...they are from Father's Day weekend. We spent that up at the lake as well.....had a great dinner at Prime Quarter in Janesville (lots of steak for daddy!) and a good weather weekend on the lake!

Here's Maya napping on the boat...

Finally, a cousins shot..of all 3 of them...sort of in a good mood...well, at least they're all in the picture...do you know how hard these pictures are to get????

Finally, our 4th of July weekend!! We had a BBQ at the lake...with a pig roast...and lots of family and friends!! Nana and Grandpa came in from Ohio and Uncle Keith made it up from Florida!! Here are some shots from the party:

Sonia traveled all the way from Seattle to see Maya!! She hasn't seen her since she was born...quite a change!!!

Daddy and Maya having fun in the grass!!

Maya's friends made it up, too!! These girls are all December babies! Maya's the oldest born on the 11th, the other 2 are 2 weeks younger....it's going to be so much fun to watch them grow up together!! ....this wasn't the best picture of the 3 of them, but I like this one because you can see Maya eyeing Paisley's bow in her hair...in the next picture we took, she's totally grabbing it!! :)

...no wonder Macy was so tired later....he also tried the Summer Shandy from the keg...hmmmm

Maya loves to chew on anything these days...especially bottles!!

OK - that pretty much wraps up my pictures....I'll try to stay on top of this more :)

6 month stats!

Our little baby had her 6 month dr. visit today and did great! Here are her updated stats:

Length: 26 1/2" (75th percentile)
Weight: 19 lbs. 11 oz. (95th percentile)
Head: 17 1/4" (75th percentile)

She is "thriving" as the doctor says :) All is going according to plan, developmentally...she is going to start eating solids 3 meals a day now, instead of just 2...such a big girl!!! I love her doctor, too...we happened to get on the conversation about us moving and looking for a house, and he gave me his home address and phone number if we wanted to take a look at his neighborhood, he'd give us a tour of his house (to see the model, because he lives in an area that we are looking at)! Maya likes him, too, gave him a big 'ol smile when he came in -- 2 teeth showing! Anyway, that was our excitement today...she got 4 shots which are never fun, but I don't think she even felt the first one, cause she didn't make a sound..then we had some screaming for the others, but the nurse was fast and as soon as I was able to pick her up she stopped crying. Plus - she slept for an hour after her appointment! (which is twice as long as her normal nap!) Here is a picture from today - just playing and being cute this evening!!

(if you look really close...you can see her 2 teeth!! :)

Swimming!!!

Maya started swimming class at the Y last week! It's really just an "adjustment to water" class, but she had a good time splashing around in the pool and singing songs and stuff! Daddy came along to the first class to get some pictures....here we are:

Maya Maya Bathy Time!!!

Maya loves her bathtime now!! We couldn't help but snap a few shots after her bath a couple days ago....just too cute for words :)

"Who me?? I didn't take the Desitin!!"

"OK, you got me....want to share???"

"Oh Daddy....you are TOO funny!!!!"

....and did you notice in these pictures that she is sitting up...unsupported by anything?? We were, of course, close by, just in case, but she is getting very strong and sits up by herself for quite some time now! I will actually leave her now with the Boppy or some pillows around her...she loves to play sitting up, only, occasionally, she also decides she'd like to lie down, and she's not real graceful at that yet :)!

On a side note, our little baby is 6 months old today...little tear...how the time has flown!!
