I've been busy....

So....I know this hasn't been updated in a while...we've had a busy end of summer/beginning of fall!!! First, as the picture shows, we had a great time on our family cruise to New England/Canada in September! Maya got to be a little princess and spoiled by both sets of grandparents (and all the other grandparents that were passengers on the ship!!)...she perfected her wave and had a smile for every passenger that smiled at her!

Here are some pictures from the beginning of fall...and Maya's first trip to the pumpkin farm! We went to Goebbert's out in Barrington...that I haven't been to since I was probably about 10...and boy has it changed! Maya had so much fun with her cousins, Ali and Madi, and Aunt Jenn and Uncle Dave and Abuelita! Here she is in Ali's wagon...

...and clapping because she just cannot contain her excitement of riding in her first big girl wagon and being amongst all those animals!! :)

...and down here we have some shots of Maya doing what she does best these days...crawling around, pulling herself up on the furniture and just plain getting into stuff!!!! (oh, and waving...because she does that ALL the time :)

...Yes, this is a basket of Macy's toys....probably not that sanitary, but she was having so much fun!! :)

Quick update...

I don't have much time, but I have been very bad about my blogging. So, for those of you that still check this...a few cute Maya pics to hold you over: (can you believe she is 9 months old tomorrow??!!!)

First, one of Maya's favorite toys: Mommy's shoes!! She plays on the floor while I get ready in the morning, and one day Daddy showed her my "secret under-bed stash" of shoes, and every day now, that is where she heads! I think we have a future shoe lover on our hands! :)

Next, this was taken on Daddy's birthday - our daily family walk!

This one, picture Maya saying..."hey - who is that in the dishwasher?? She looks like me!" Maya is moving all over now, and can get into the kitchen on her own, and she loves to look in the dishwasher and oven because she can see herself! I caught her giving the dishwasher a kiss the other day! :)

This last one is kind of out of order - the was taken mid-August at our last day of swimming class at the Y. We tried out the safety gear! Maya is all ready for boating!

OK - I need to download more recent pics from my camera...and also need to find a few extra hours in each day to do that, so if anyone knows how I can do that, please let me know! :) In the meantime, keep checking back, I'm bound to get them up here eventually!! Happy September!!

August...so far...

Maya says..."HI" from the lakehouse...and who needs toys when there are plastic bottles just laying around???!!

Daddy and Maya enjoy some splash mat fun! She loves the water!

Today (8/11), we went to my friend, Kelly's, beach by her house. Just a little beach, but so much fun for the kids!! Maya loves to grab the sand and squish it between her fingers (and maybe taste it a little), and splash in the water! (oh, and if you're wondering why she's not wearing her bathing suit...that would be because her mom is not all with it in the morning! I brought EVERYTHING else with us...just left the suit at home!)

Yay for bubble baths!!! ...I do sense a water theme this summer, now that it's finally nice out!!!

Maya and her friend, Amelia. Amelia is 3 months younger than Maya and started out WAY smaller...she's catching up, though!!!

OK - I'm really not a Beavis and Butthead fan, but there is one episode that cracks me up everytime I think about it...and this is Maya's "cornholio" pose!!! :) (for those that have never seen it...please read on.... :)

...an update...

I know it's been a few weeks...here is a rundown of what Maya's been up to in July...in no particular order...

First, the second weekend in July, we went to Arlington Park Race Track! Daddy did not win anything, even though Maya helped him pick his ponies, but we had a good time anyway! One of Maya's friends, Megan, and her Mommy and Daddy, came with us....Megan is only 2 weeks younger than Maya! You will see in the pics, Maya with Daddy and the track, the way Maya napped at the track, Maya and Megan and Megan's daddy, and one of Maya's first attempts at the sippy cup (she's getting much better at it!!)






















Next, some pics from the lakehouse...where we've spent most other weekends this summer... First, one of Grandpa "babysitting" Maya :) ..Maya in her big-girl highchair out to dinner....Maya and her cousin Madi, who is 5 months younger and will be her best friend...soon :) ...one of Maya and Mommy on the boat..wrapped up in blankets..in July :( ....and one of the Gorska's visit...

OK - there are more pics, but I can't get the spacing right on here and it's pissing me off, so I am going to have to post the rest later.... this can just serve as a teaser :) More Maya fun to come!! Hope everyone is having as great a summer as us!!!

6 month pics!

These are just a sampling of the wonderful pics we had taken of Maya at 6 months old!! There are so many for us to choose from and she was quite the sport at the photo shoot - we have a little ham on our hands!! :)

Time for an update....

Maya and I apologize for being blogging slackers recently...we've been busy busy this summer!! Here is an update from the past couple of weeks...try to keep up: :) (and we apologize for being out of order....I really don't like how blogger uploads pictures and makes it hard to move them....)

We spent the week leading up to the 4th up at the lake! The weather was kind of crappy, but Maya had fun perfecting her rolling around and bouncing in her activity saucer...she's really getting more mobile now - I think there is crawling in the very near future!! We had to come home on Tuesday night to process some athleticpets.com orders and for Maya to attend her first Kindermusik class, so on the way back to the lake on Wednesday, we swung through Milwaukee for Maya's first Summerfest experience!! (for those of you who don't know what Summerfest is...it's just the biggest gathering of bands and food/drink that you can imagine - for a week straight!!) Here are some shots from that:

Finally, our 4th of July weekend!! We had a BBQ at the lake...with a pig roast...and lots of family and friends!! Nana and Grandpa came in from Ohio and Uncle Keith made it up from Florida!! Here are some shots from the party:

Maya's friends made it up, too!! These girls are all December babies! Maya's the oldest born on the 11th, the other 2 are 2 weeks younger....it's going to be so much fun to watch them grow up together!! ....this wasn't the best picture of the 3 of them, but I like this one because you can see Maya eyeing Paisley's bow in her hair...in the next picture we took, she's totally grabbing it!! :)

...no wonder Macy was so tired later....he also tried the Summer Shandy from the keg...hmmmm

Maya loves to chew on anything these days...especially bottles!!
